How Long Does Brow Lamination Last? The Honest Timeline

A client asked me this in her consult last week, how long am I actually going to get out of this. Fair question, and one worth asking before you book anything. Brow lamination gives you that fuller, brushed up, done for the day look without reaching for a brow pencil every morning. But it is not permanent, and it is worth knowing exactly what you are paying for before you commit. Here is the honest answer, no fluff.

The Honest Timeline

Most clients get four to six weeks out of a lamination before their brows start settling back into their natural pattern. Some people get closer to eight weeks if they have got coarser hair and look after it well. Others notice it dropping off around three weeks if their brow hair is fine or grows quickly.

There is no single number that applies to everyone, but four to six weeks is the realistic average to plan around when you are deciding whether this fits your routine.

What Actually Affects How Long It Lasts

A few things decide where you land in that range. Your hair type matters, coarser hair tends to hold the shape longer than fine hair does. How oily your skin is around the brow area plays a part too, oil breaks down the lamination solution faster than dry skin does.

And how you treat your brows day to day makes a real difference. Swimming, saunas, steam rooms, and heavy oil based skincare applied near the brows will all shorten the life of your set, sometimes by a week or more.

How to Get the Most Out of Your Lamination

Keep water off your brows for the first 24 hours so the solution has time to properly set. After that, avoid rubbing or picking at them, brush them into place each morning rather than leaving them to dry however they land overnight, and steer clear of oil heavy cleansers or moisturisers right on the brow area.

None of this is high maintenance, it is just a few small habits that protect what you have already paid for.

When to Rebook

I would rather you come back at the point your brows are genuinely dropping than book too early out of habit and waste money. For most clients that is around the five to six week mark, though your own timeline might sit a little either side of that depending on your hair and skin.

If you are weighing lamination up against something more permanent like brow tattooing, it comes down to how much upkeep you actually want. Lamination is a great low commitment way to trial a fuller brow before deciding if you want longer lasting results.

If you are local to Wanaka and want a treatment that works with your natural growth pattern rather than fighting against it, that is exactly what we talk through at your appointment at Central Clinic. There is no one size fits all answer, it depends on your brows and your lifestyle.
